Selling Land Online for Free

Sell land, Sell land online, Sell land for free, sell land by owner

You want to sell your land, but don’t want to spend a lot on listing it.

Well, it doesn’t get any cheaper than free.

Believe it or not, there are ways to sell your land online for free. Here are a few resources available to help sell your land without spending any money.

Craigslist

Some people tend to overlook Craigslist.org as a venue for free real estate advertising. Despite that, vacant lots, rental properties, homes, rural land and more are sold on that site every day.

And the best part? It’s free.

Go to the site, and click on the “Housing” section. You may see a lot of apartment listings at first. However, look closer, and you’ll also find houses, vacant properties, and other real estate.

After clicking on “Housing,” scroll down the navigation bar on the left. From there, click on “housing type.” That’s where you’ll see offerings for various types of housing (remember, on Craigslist, “housing” can also refer to vacant land.) Look at that list to figure out which category your property falls into.

In the “Housing” section, you may also see posts from companies and other investors who are willing to buy your land, sight unseen.

It costs nothing to contact them.

You may not get the quote you hoped for, but on the upside, these people may be able to close the deal fast. That, in itself, can be helpful if you’re wanting to get rid of your land quickly.

Tip: If there are flaws with your property, such as code violations, just say so. Some people don’t care. While it costs you nothing to approach potential buyers, it also costs you nothing, to be honest.

Selling Land Privately

There are people who invest in land privately as a hobby, and those who do it for a living. It doesn’t matter why they’re doing it; it just matters that they might be interested in what you’ve got to offer.

The private investor may be a retiree, an enterprising college student, a real estate professional or anyone else. Some of these folks are new to investing, while others have years of experience.

This differs from dealing with larger land companies in the sense that they’re probably not purchasing properties in high volumes. They might also just be operating in one particular state or region. For instance, they may be interested in acquiring land in the Southwest, or New Mexico, or only in the Roswell area. Before approaching them, find out if there are limits on where they’re willing to invest.

You might find their ads on Craigslist, but these do-it-yourself private investors can be found all over the internet, including on social media sites.

Using Social Media to Sell Land

While you’re on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media site discussing your dog’s latest antics, don’t forget to mention that you’ve got a property for sale. State where it is, and provide a brief description.

The funny thing about social media is that you never know who will end up seeing your posts. Your posts can get picked up on internet search engines, too. In that case, your potential audience multiplies.

So, mention your land online. Work it into conversations. But don’t clobber people over the head with it until they’re tired of hearing about it. There’s a difference between making a subtle sales pitch and being a nuisance.

Selling Your Land to a Land Company

If you’re really motivated to sell your land, be sure to check out online land purchasing companies.

The benefit of choosing one of these companies is that, unlike some private investors, they often absorb the full legal costs and handle all the paperwork. They also tend to pay quickly. That makes it nice and easy for you to cash in fast and get on with your life. If you do an online search for selling land fast or selling your land now, you’ll probably find some of these sites.

There’s usually a form to fill out. That’s where you tell them about your land. Be sure to have the parcel number. A bit later, they’ll tell you what they’re willing to pay for it. Pick a company that takes care of all the legal details, and it just can’t be easier or faster.

There are various ways to sell land online for free, whether by social media, free classified sites, auction sites, private investors or land purchasing companies. You can save even more by getting your buyer to pay document fees.

Why pay for something when you don’t have to? With a few basic internet search skills, you can find buyers for your property without spending a dime.
